Offshore racing
Where the greatest feats come to life
The Pôle Course au Large, located in the port of Lorient, is a driving force for excellence. It supports skippers in their ocean racing projects, whether professional or amateur. Set up in the former Lorient submarine base, the centre is home to some of the world's greatest skippers preparing for the world's most prestigious races. Armel Le Cléac'h, Thomas Coville and Jérémie Beyou are just a few of the well-known and renowned sailors.
Europe's leading ocean racing centre
Lorient is the leading European centre and technical base for ocean racing. In concrete terms, the Ocean Racing cluster helps them to optimise their preparation for these races and achieve the records they are aiming for, thanks to over a kilometre of pontoons dedicated to racing boats. Lorient la Base is home to naval architecture, shipyards, sailmakers, high technology, supplies, specialist training and all the companies involved in the sailing industry. A true concentration of the best in ocean racing.
